Lake Louise

LOCATION: CANADA

To say Lake Louise is beautiful would be a complete understatement and the pictures definitely don't do this amazing landscape justice! First impressions were to be lost with words at the ever-changing  colour of the lake. The glassy water would change from a vibrant emerald to an icy clear blue. The colour comes from rock flour which is carried into the lake from the glaciers that surround the water.

As it turned out, we picked the perfect day to explore. When I say perfect I am leaving out the fact that it was lightly snowing in Banff an hour earlier, meaning my fingers were frozen by the end of our walk. Despite the chill in the air and frozen fingers, I couldn't help acting like a giddy six year old from the excitement of spotting my first Canadian wildlife. No, it wasn't and bear or a moose but three flittering squirrels chasing each other around a tree which were way to quick for me to snap a decent picture unfortunately.

We stayed at the amazing Fairmont Chateau pictured in the last photo which was also another experience that topped off our stay. We had the most incredible view from our room which can be seen on my instagram. As soon as we walked in, the massive sky high mountains were right there for us to wake up to. Yes, Lauren and I actually opened our curtain before the sun was up to view this incredible sight! In my opinion if you go to Lake Louise, stay at the Chateau. It's an experience you won't want to miss!
